Fiberglass wicks are superior to cotton wicks for several reasons. Firstly, unlike cotton wicks which need frequent replacement, fiberglass wicks can last indefinitely with normal use, saving you both money and time in the long term. To achieve the best results with our replacement wicks, it is recommended to expose only about 1/4" to 1/2" of the wick from the torch or lamp. This will ensure a smooth and steady flame shape.

If the wick is overexposed, the flame may become unsteady, ragged, smoke excessively, and waste fuel. It is advisable to start with a 1/4" exposed wick and adjust accordingly to achieve the desired flame. It is important to note that fiberglass wicks are not consumed during usage but may need replacement if contaminated with water or poor-quality fuel. When switching between paraffin oil, torch fuel, or kerosene, it is recommended to replace the wick and allow it to absorb the oil in the lamp before lighting it.
